Abstract
Motivation and achievement are closely related constructs and in fact there is a reciprocal rela-tionship between the two constructs. That is, the higher the motivation the higher the achievement and in turn, the higher the achievement the higher the motivation. Siavash Talepasand investigated the effect of perceived motivational structure of the classroom on achievement behaviors. In the study, Talepasand found that the mastery structure played an effective role in forming achievement behaviors. In the second study, Camci-Erdogan examined gifted students’ images of scientists. She discovered that gifted students’ percep-tions about scientists were stereotypical, gener-ally with glasses and laboratory coats.

Key words: What is more interesting in her study is that most gifted students drew male scientists. Although female students drew male scientists in their descrip-tions, none of male students drew female scien-tist.
